Shaun Smith, a proud Bathonian, has deep roots in the city where he still resides today. Raised in the Snow Hill area, his creative journey began in the 1970s with street theatre as part of the Bath Arts Workshop, now the Natural Theatre Company.
With over 25 years’ experience in travel, Shaun has escorted groups on unforgettable journeys spanning from Moscow to Hollywood. A passionate musician, he spent years playing in local bands and even performed at Glastonbury’s 25th Anniversary in 1995 – a personal highlight. Shaun’s vast knowledge of music and history, combined with personal connections to many of the bands featured on the Rock and Stroll tour, makes him the perfect guide. When not sharing Bath’s vibrant stories, he can often be found cheering on Bath City at Twerton Park.
John Baker, one of our key guides, brings over forty years of experience as a writer, recording artist, and touring musician with the hit band The Korgis. A true Bathonian, John’s musical journey began as a school friend of Roland Orzabal, with whom he formed his first band at just 14. The pair went on to form Graduate in the late 70s with several members, including bassist Curt Smith.
Still an active performer and tourer, John’s deep connection to the city’s musical heritage and his personal stories of collaborating with some of Bath’s most notable musicians make him an engaging and knowledgeable guide on the Rock and Stroll tour.
